Zares combines high precision profiling wheels, patented ZarGas tool holders and the MicroPoint tool presetting system to create a complete machining solution designed to improve accuracy, consistency and productivity.

Traditional profiling and polishing operations can be affected by vibration, tool runout and inaccurate tool measurement, all of which can impact edge quality and reduce tooling performance. The Zares system is designed to minimise these variables by combining a highly stable tool holding system with accurate tool measurement and premium profiling wheels.

The ZarGas connection system provides a secure and repeatable interface between the cone and profiling wheel, while the MicroPoint presetting system allows tools to be measured and recorded before reaching the machine. Together, these components help reduce setup times, improve consistency and support faster machining speeds while maintaining excellent edge quality.

The result is a highly efficient 7 position profiling system that delivers excellent finish quality, dependable tool life and reliable performance across a wide range of stone fabrication applications.

The 7-Position Finishing Sequence

To achieve an uncompromised factory-grade edge, the Zares profiling sets utilise a carefully calibrated 7-step progression that transitions from aggressive stock shaping to fine rubber-bonded polishing:

The Diamond Stages (Positions 1–4)

• Position 1 (Aggressive Roughing): Calibrated for maximum material removal to rapidly carve out the primary edge profile and remove slab-cutting irregularities.

• Position 2 (Shaping & Calibration): Refines the rough profile shape, bringing the edge closer to its final geometric dimensions.

• Position 3 (Medium Refining): Minimises tooling marks left by the initial steps, smoothing the profile face.

• Position 4 (Fine Pre-Polishing): The final metal bond diamond step, designed to close the stone pores and prep the surface for the polishing sequence.

The Polishing Stages (Positions 5–7)

• Position 5 (Pre-Gloss Polish): A specialised bond wheel that eliminates micro scratches and initiates a deep, uniform hone.

• Position 6 (High-Gloss Finish): Enhances colour depth and clarity across the profile face, removing any remaining shadowing.

• Position 7 (Brilliant Mirror Shine): The final buffing position that matches the edge’s reflection perfectly to the factory slab surface.

Application Constraints Warning

NEVER skip positions or alter the recommended sequential order of the 7-step set. Running a rubber polisher (Positions 5–7) with a removal depth greater than 0.03 will instantly flex the rubber matrix, leading to distorted profiles, premature wheel failure, or burned edges. Additionally, never force a patented ZarGas tool onto a generic 1/2″ Gas tool holder cone; forcing mismatched connections will permanently deform the precision-ground secondary conical seats, destroying the vibration-dampening system.
