Thibaut Cones, By OnPoint
Our Thibaut Cones are precision machined specifically for Thibaut CNC machines, providing a secure and accurate connection between the spindle and tooling. In stone fabrication, tool holding plays a major role in both tool life and finished edge quality. A stable, accurate cone helps reduce vibration, improve machining consistency and get the best performance from your tooling.
This range focuses exclusively on the BT40 taper used across Thibaut machinery and is available in a variety of standard configurations, including 1/2 inch Gas, Bore 22, Bore 35 and 50mm Flange options. Multiple operating heights are available to suit different tooling requirements, allowing fabricators to build the correct setup for their machine and application.
Technical Features
-
Dedicated Thibaut Compatibility: Specifically machined to integrate seamlessly with Thibaut CNC spindles, providing absolute concentricity and zero-tolerance structural alignment.
-
Exclusive BT40 Taper Interface: Engineered to match the exact dimensions and high-torque demands of BT40 spindle configurations, ensuring maximum contact surface area.
-
Comprehensive Fitting Variations: Offered in a complete selection of connection profiles to accommodate any stone tool in your production facility:
-
1/2″ Gas Connection: Standard internal threading for foundational milling and profiling bits.
-
22mm & 35mm Bores: Available in various heights to securely lock modular routing and grinding wheels.
-
50mm Flange Mounts: Built for rigid, high-stability face-mounting of large profiling tools.
-
-
Anti-Corrosive High-Tensile Steel: Fabricated from hardened alloy steel treated to resist the highly corrosive, water-saturated environments of automated stone fabrication.
Tool Application Style
-
High-Speed CNC Milling & Profiling: Designed to rigidly secure calibration wheels, router bits, and profiling wheels during complex kitchen worktop cut outs, sink dropouts, and edge detailing on Thibaut machines.
-
Precision Face Grinding: Perfect for maintaining structural stability during high vibration lateral grinding and heavy calibration work.
CNC Operational & Handling Guidelines
Because automated CNC machining functions via precise mechanical tracking under immense structural forces, operators must follow these handling rules:
-
Spindle Taper Cleanliness Protocol: Always verify that both the machine spindle and the BT40 cone taper are completely free of stone slurry, grit, or mineral scale before loading. A single particle of dust trapped on the taper face will induce runout, damaging both the stone edge and your spindle bearings.
-
Height & Bore Calibration Verification: Ensure the chosen tool holder height correctly matches the machine’s software profile. When utilizing the 22mm or 35mm bore setups, guarantee that locking nuts are torqued to factory specifications to eliminate any lateral tool slippage during rapid material entry.
-
Consistent Lubrication Maintenance: Periodically check and maintain the pull studs and tool-holder retention components to ensure a flawless mechanical release and clamping cycle inside the spindle.
Application Constraints Warning
NEVER attempt to force a BT40 tool holder into an ISO40 or HSK-dedicated spindle, as attempting to bridge mismatched spindle standards will cause catastrophic damage to the CNC spindle assembly. Furthermore, ensure that tool holders specified for wet operation are never run dry or without adequate internal/external coolant flow; extreme friction heat will warp the precision tolerances of the steel core and permanently compromise tool accuracy.
