CNC Operational & Handling Guidelines
Important Maintenance Information Pull studs should always be installed to the machine manufacturer’s recommended torque setting and inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage. On machines using coolant fed pull studs, O rings and sealing components should be checked periodically and replaced when necessary. As pull studs are a safety critical component, regular inspection and replacement should form part of every preventative maintenance programme.
Application Constraints Warning
Pull studs must always be matched to the correct machine and tool holder specification. Even where thread sizes appear identical, differences in pull stud design can prevent correct engagement with the machine’s retention system. Using an incorrect pull stud may result in poor clamping, tool retention failure and costly damage to the spindle, drawbar or tool holder assembly.
